Giving Back with Coupons – Mom & Daughter Help the Homeless

image(1)Reader Shavonne M. and her super-cute daughter are saving angels! Check out this letter and picture they sent to me – just warms my heart…

Hi Ms. Couponista,

Three months ago my nine-year-old daughter decided to start a fundraiser drive for the homeless. She sells jewelry and popcorn to raise money for food for our local shelter and care packages for the homeless in the DMV. I have been able to use coupons to get free pasta and low-cost pasta sauce to make meals for our local homeless shelter. Yesterday we created 30 care packages for homeless men, women and children in the DMV area.

Here is a picture of my daughter and our stock pile prior to packing the care packages today. My daughter is very excited about hitting the streets and handing out the care packages next week. Hopefully we’ll be blessing to someone.
